Religion

More often than not, when we have spoken to Hai about Ultimate Truth or Reality he will refer to the "One Mind" or some variation of this eg: the "One Heart". However, we have found that he has varied the terms which he has used in the interests of relating to his audience. Thus, you may have noticed in some of his sayings which we quote in the Welcome Page, that he quite often uses the term "God". This reflects the backgrounds of the audience to whom many of these sayings were delivered ie: it was in the context of a Christian Spiritualist Church.

From time to time we have had lengthy discussions with Hai and some of our other spirit visitors about the role of religion and its relationship to Ultimate Truth or Reality.

Hai: Truth is deep, deep without measure, unfathomable. Our minds can never truly embrace it. Our minds can never truly understand. Because our minds are made for other purposes. They are made for splitting things apart, for naming things, for seeing differences and this is especially true of your minds while you are on the physical plane. But the reality is one of wholeness, one of unity, one of harmony and it is with the suspension of thought, however brief, that we can really gain an appreciation of this Reality. It is a Reality which transcends all truths. It transcends all religions because it is Reality. It is the Reality which is Truth, which cannot be questioned, which cannot be contradicted. It is like putting your foot into cold water. Your body knows the reality of that. It is beyond question. And this is a poor parallel to give you. Because your body senses the cold water because of the nature of your body. Because you are warmer blooded and what you sense is the contrast of the cold water. So the parallel I give you is poor for this reason. But you take my meaning. The experience of the One Reality cannot be questioned because it is a concrete experience. It is a concrete reality. Religions are mere ramblings by comparison. But I do not say this to disparage religions. But it is a matter of depth. One of the problems of trying to convey reality with words. Religions try and succeed to varying degrees to try to portray this Reality. But what they use are words and words are limited, words are restricted. They stand against. They act as labels for things. But they do not stand for the real experience as such. They cannot take the place of the real experience. You talk of the sun and so the sun becomes a word and a useful word at that, because it enables you to talk about the sun. But it cannot enshrine the experience of the sun can it? It merely stands for the sun. And this is the problem that we have with the Truth, the Reality. This Reality is our Essence. And in essence it is why we show compassion for each other. We share a Common Heart, a Common Mind. It makes no sense to treat each other unfairly, to treat each other without compassion. It is as if we strike out against ourselves. We must recognise our Common Heart, our Common Harmony. If there is disharmony instead it is unfortunate, but this disturbance does not reflect Reality. It is rather people disturbing the water, muddying the water, and not seeing the crystal clarity of their Essence, their Common Essence which they share with each other.

On a number of occasions other spirits have come through to share their experiences gained through past earthly lives in order to give us another perspective on the subject. One of the most poignant of these was a visit from a spirit who stated that he had been an Aztec Leader in a previous life.

Q: Were there times when you made offerings to your Spirit?

Aztec: Offerings to the Great Spirit. Yes, offerings at festivals to the Great Spirit. But this is a sadness, because we mistake the nature of the Great Spirit. We believed Great Spirit needed our blood to live, to be appeased. We did not understand Great Spirit is in all of us. Great Spirit love each person. Our minds twist meaning, of life, of Great Spirit, of eternity. The human mind is dangerous, very dangerous. The human mind takes all manner of things and distorts them and makes them a reality in its own image, as if they were a reality. This is terrible danger, terrible disaster. You have this here recently. The human mind takes an idea and works on it. Works on it to a fever. Works on it till it is as if it is a concrete building, a reality that cannot be questioned. Then they act. You must put people at centre of worth, centre of existence, and all things must come from this. The valuing of each individual person. The loving of each individual person. All else must be built on this and nothing else. No religion, no principles, no nothing. Only this love of each individual person. Even high sounding principles go astray, go wrong. They must be tested and questioned against love. Do they support, do they manifest love of each individual person?

Q: Did your civilisation last for a long time?

Aztec: Yes, till Spanish come. They came for our gold and our land. But they also had wrong ideas, distorted ideas, harmful ideas. They come with more wrongful ideas, distorted ideas, disastrous ideas. Their "reality" was as bad as our "reality"! All in the quagmire!

Q: Did they try to change your people to their religion?

Aztec: Yes and they succeeded. But more distortion! All religion, throw down! Look at your brother, your sister, with loving eyes and all is done. No more needed! All is done! And follow through with that love. Simplicity, simple love is what is needed. A straight road. Your religions, they are a myriad of roads stretching out in every direction, exploring they know not what. A straight road of love is all that is needed. Is all that is!
