Jim asked why guides seemed to have such difficulty creating communication with us now when the process of communications seemed to be easier in times even prior to Jesus

Q: 'Thank you for listening because this question is so important to me. First I want to thank you for that book, The Unfolding Lotus. My wife died and so I bought so many books that I swear they all copy each other and say nothing. I have so much more insight into the sprit world now, but I do wonder and I am trying to weed out to see the truth of things. They say that Jesus was the best medium and think of what supposedly Moses did. Well, if this really happened why can't we do it now? Why would the guides be baffled on how to make a connection with us if they could do it before with Jesus? I am confused on what to "buy" here; to me the spirit world have that information having done this before? That info should be in the akashic records of how they communicated to Jesus. I have sat for ever and never heard a peep. Please ask spirit for an answer for me I already feel in debt to you because of your book but I would appreciate an answer back. Thank you both so much and wish you the best.

Hai: Much of what is written in your holy books did not happen. Therefore, it is false to compare what is written, imaginary happenings, with the reality of what you experience now, in the present time. It is false to compare the two. For much of what has been talked about in the past did not happen in the past. So this is one thing. As regards spirit communication, it is not an easy thing to achieve. We have said many times that it requires both your energy reaching up to us and our energy reaching to you. There must be a synchronicity, a connection. It is like a spark of electrical charges meeting; we must have each charge reaching out to the other and then, in a flash, a connection is made.

But it is not an easy thing this connection. It depends on many things. It depends on your ability, it depends upon your patience and endurance, and it depends upon our deliberation, upon our energy to connect with you. Therefore, it is not an easy thing to achieve this meeting of different energies. For, though we are all one and of the One Mind, in truth, for this is the ultimate truth, we are all of the One Mind and connected in the most intimate way you can imagine. But at another level we are different energies. And for these energies to connect with one another is not an easy feat for we are on different vibrations. And these vibrations do not connect, communicate naturally, easily, spontaneously. There needs to be a reaching out from both sides in order to make the connection. But you must reach out not with your rational, scientific minds, you must reach out rather with your creative, artistic, intuitive minds. This is difficult. For many wish to seek proof, wish to seek evidence, wish to seek concrete facts of the existence of the spirit realms. This puts their minds in a difficult place to actually experience the communication of which we speak, for their minds are in the wrong place to achieve it, if you follow me.

Therefore, it is often necessary to suspend the scientific quest in order to achieve the connection and the communication. Then you may look at the evidence as an after thought. But while you are seeking the connection, you need to be meeting us with your intuitive, creative, artistic minds. There must be an openness, a stillness, an intuitiveness, an imaginativeness even, yes, for this to happen. And we have spoken oftentimes about the difficulty, the dilemma in this. For as you use your imaginations to reach out to us, you then doubt yourselves and you say: “Well perhaps it is only my imagination.” But you must have faith and reach out with your imaginations my friends, for (voice goes very soft and quiet) we are then able to tap into that imagination, to connect with it, to speak to it, to influence it and therefore the communication can then take place. But it requires an act of faith, patience, endurance even, yes.

Eileen had received a message following a question to her guide a few days earlier that had left her feeling confused. She asked Hai:

Q: What do you do when you receive an answer to a question that leaves you feeling confused about the meaning?

Hai: You must work on it as best you may. You may find other communications come to you at other moments of time to clarify this point, this confusion. For, as we realise that we have spawned confusion, then we may try again to create another message to balance the first, to add clarity to the first.

Spirit Guides

Many of our visitors are keen to ask Hai and the other spirit guides in our Spirit Group about the nature and purpose of spirit guides. They have also asked questions about the identity of spirit guides and why a particular spirit guide comes to work with us. Hai has occasionally given information about a person's spirit guide though more often he encourages people to seek direct contact. Isleen's meditations have sometimes helped people to meet and know their spirit guide.

At times other spirit guides have introduced themselves to the group. Two of Eileen's guides have done so. Red Cloud lived his last incarnation in the 19th century as a North American Indian. He presents as a very strong, authoritative character. Patience was one of the early Quaker settlers in North America. She presents as a very gentle, patient person. We give below a small selection of questions and responses.

One of the points of interest to visitors has been the backgrounds of spirit guides and whether there are any common characteristics.

Q: Why are most of the spirit guides Red Indians?

Hai: I do not have any feathers! There are many spirit guides. They are not all by any means of Indian ancestry. There are some who, when on the earth plane, were North American Indian in identity, but there are many who were not Indian. I think there is an element here of people being more sensitive, expectant, about Indian guides because of the associations which they create in relation to our Indian brothers. The range of guides is immense. It is perhaps the case, though, that those who are prominent in undertaking this role, the role which I myself have taken, had a particular orientation while on the earth plane and this predisposes or enables us more easily to step into the role we occupy. This perhaps relates to the fact that your conditions of life distract people from advancing in certain directions. Detract and distract them from developing certain affinities and skills. So, it may be that some cultures better prepare people for the role, even into the afterlife in the Spirit Land.

Q: Why do spirit guides sometimes change?

Hai: It is because the person develops and therefore makes themselves open to the possibility of a more advanced guide working with them. Someone who can take them on further along the path.

Q: Is there a spirit who stays with us throughout our lives?

Hai: Yes, this may be so. As I say it depends on the individual and the guide who is working with them. It's not necessary always for a guide to change. The individual does not always require a change of guide. So there are individual factors here. As always there is no rigid blueprint.

On another occasion we had a discussion with Patience about the role of guides and in particular discussed the nature of her role.

Q: Do you work exclusively with Eileen?

Patience: I do not work exclusively, but we have a special bond.

Q: Do you have a particular role with the healing?

Patience: I have the role of clearing the path, of making things straight and level.

Q: Is that in all matters or specifically healing?

Patience: In the healing I assist and facilitate to help things progress well.

Q: That's nice to know.

Patience: You are nice to know.

Q: Are there still as many bumps to iron out with my healing?

Patience: There are always bumps to iron out, but we progress. This is the important thing, is it not? We iron out the bumps. There may be more along the way, but we iron them out and so we go on and before we know where we are we make rapid, good progress. A bit at a time, one step at a time, a hill at a time, to climb the mountain.

Q:What do the bumps refer to? Is it energies?

Patience: The bumps are blockages, inconsistencies. You must know yourself the difficulties which we all face from your side and ours. There are fluctuations in faith. There are fluctuations in the channel. There are fluctuations in how strong the contact may be between us. All of these things are bumps are they not, blockages? We cannot hope to iron things out, to become a level smooth plane, because our lives are not like that. Inevitably there will always be bumps to be ironed out. But we may progress nevertheless and the bumps may get fewer and not as big.

Wendy from Scarborough in England asked the following question:

Q: Many years ago when I was developing I saw a man who had gone into trance and he disappeared before my eyes and a holy man stood in his place. I was left with a feeling I cannot describe and it lasted for two weeks.I was told this 15 years previous to it happening. Before I saw the holy man I was looking at a Centurion who was watching over a young boy in the congregation and he was talking to me by thought and told me he was calming him down for what was to happen on the rostrum. No one has ever been able to explain this to me. The holy man I saw was Zodiac. Still i think about it and wonder. Did I see a dematerialisation of a person living and a materialisation of a spiriit? It never ceases to amaze me.

Hai: Yes, she has seen an apparent dematerialisation of this other person who was on platform and an apparent materialisation of the spirit guide Zodiac. But this was proof for her of spirit survival, of the spirit world, of the spirit lands. This was proof, special proof, given to her of the spirit world. But she not see person dematerialise in actuality, but rather see spirit materialise in her mind yes. We can use special faculty of mind to convey sights and images, can use special faculty of third eye to convey special images, special sights that person may see as if they are in physical world. Therefore this is what happened on this occasion, that we are able to manipulate the visual system of this person to bring about an apparent dematerialisation and an apparent materialisation.

This is no the less outstanding, amazing, because we have done it this way. It is still a marvel, an amazing experience which few have had. Therefore we would say, we would encourage this person to accept this for what it is. To accept it as evidence for her, special evidence for her, special proof for her of spirit survival, of the reality of the spirit lands. That it has been given to her through the mechanisms of her mind is no the less a marvel than if the person had simply materialised in front of whole congregation, for whole congregation to see. It is special proof for her. It may be that boy also saw this happening. She must ask boy what he saw, what he experienced. It maybe that he and some other member of congregation saw this thing. But she should not let herself be agitated over this. She should just accept experience for what it is as giving special evidence for her, to her. That it was Zodiac is significant because as it is him rather than any other spirit, rather than an ordinary spirit, this giving special sign to her of the guidance which is available to all. The guidance which is available to her also from enlightend spirits. Therefore it is giving further evidence of divine guidance which directs and guides whole creation.

A member of the group asked a follow on question:

Q: Who is Zodiac?

Hai: Zodiac is enlightened master. Zodiac is enlightend master, what you may call, some people may call "Ascended Master". So there are many of these.

Q: I'm still not sure what an "Ascended Master" is.

Hai: Master who has gone on to higher realm.

Q: So he's somebody!!

Hai: He "big cheese", hah.

Q: There seems to be a lot of these "big cheeses".

Hai: All small "big cheeses" compared to Great Cheese.

Q: So one of these days you might be a Zodiac type level person?

Hai: How you know I not already, hah? No matter. These things are matter of place, of value, of role, station, no matter.

Q: Doesn't he talk about Christianity though Hai?

Hai: Yes, he more linked to Christianity, but in divine scheme of things he want to channel for Divine Truth. But there are many channels for Divine Truth. Some channels use the forms, the symbolisms of other religions. This does not matter. Most important thing is Essential Truth behind all religions, this One Truth behind all religions which finds It's own expression in these myriad forms of religions.

Q: Are there other spirits at the same level as Zodiac?

Hai: Oh yes, and higher and higher.

Q: Is Silver Birch an Ascended Master?

Hai: Yes, but it is not important this "Ascended Master", "Middle of the Road Master". This not important. Most important thing is the truth which they convey. They all may convey truth according to their own ability, according to need of people whom they talk to. This is what important.

Q: Silver Birch always came through as a humble Indian didn't he?

Hai: Humble Indian of great stature.

Q: I have not felt as comfortable reading Zodiac as when reading Silver Birch, but perhaps we all need something different.

Hai: This is so. We all need some different expression of truth according to our ability to understand it, to interpret it, to appreciate it. Therefore we all need some difference of presentation. There is no harm in this providing the One Truth is expressed in these various forms. But we have spoken before of how these forms may be adopted and distorted for man's ends. This of course is great shame, great pity, great travesty of Truth. But providing forms mirror, find expression for themselves, expression of the One Mind, the One Truth, there is no harm in these different, myriad, mirrored, forms of religion.

One night another spirit named Gregory spoke to us of the need to influence the future of the world in a positive way.

Q: Do some spirit people want to look into the future?

Gregory: Yes, yes. They know that the merits of looking into the future is to shape the future, to try to shape the future, for the future is not set in your cement. It is flexible, it is malleable. Therefore we must forecast the future with a view to changing it, shaping it in the most positive way?

Q: Do spirits then try to pass that influence onto the earth plane?

Gregory: Yes, this is the purpose of it, to influence those on the earth plane to conduct their affairs in prescribed ways, better ways, to achieve a positive future rather than a negative one, yes.

Q: Does this work with our heads of state?

Gregory: Ha, unfortunately not always so. They are not always the most receptive. But there are always some who are receptive and therefore we reach them and do what we can to inspire them. This is the most we can hope for.

Q: I presume that is going on today is it, with all the troubles at the moment and the possibility of war with Iraq?

Gregory: Yes, we try to influence those who have control, who have power of men and women, who can influence the affairs of the world to a great extent. We try and influence them, their minds, their hearts, to take them in positive directions, to avoid the evils which afflict you. This is no easy task of course and you must do your part in this matter of influence, yes.

Q: You mean by thinking?

Gregory: By thinking, by sending out positive thoughts, by writing, by contacting your leaders, by trying to shape their motivations, their focus, their orientations to positive avenues, yes. If people reach out with love and love is evident in their intent, in their message, behind their message, then you will find that people will listen and take you seriously, because it is appreciated that you do not have any 'axe to grind'. You do not have any motivation of yourself, of your selfhood, but your motivation rather is inspired by the love of all. And this, therefore, makes your message clear; that you are selfless in your message and it is a message inspired by love. And those listen to messages inspired by love. Well, my friends, I must be on my way. I am most glad to have had this opportunity to speak with you, most pleased to have had this opportunity. I will wish you well. I wish your world well in your future time.

One of our visitors asked Hai why he wanted to communicate with people in our time and why he wished us to write the books which we are working on.

Hai: We wish to make teaching accessible to others, many others. We wish to make accessible to people of all religion and none. Wish to make accessible in words of your time, in manner, in mode of your time, yes. We wish to reach out with loving heart to people of your day, your time. In reaching out to people of your day, your time, with loving heart, our hearts connect in the beauty of mutual love. Why cannot people reach out? Why cannot people reach out with hearts of mutual love my friends? Why can they not look each other in the eye and find love in their hearts for other person? Why is this so my friends? So much beauty staring at you with eyes. Yet there are many who cannot do this, who do not do this, who will not do this. For they often have preconceptions about other, they often have opinions about other genders, yes? But if they could only be open. If they could only be free of prejudices, of opinions, of distortions. If they could see person for who they are. If we offer person, another person, something positive, a sign, symbol of our own good faith, of our own love for them, of our own wish to work with them in brotherhood. This undermines the seeds of evil. This undermines the seeds of hatred, and revulsion and will bring about a revolution, a transmutation of hatred into love.
